Genesis Suffers a Setback: Consumer Reports’ Blunt Verdict on Vehicle Reliability

Consumer Reports experts have shed light on the reliability of Genesis vehicles. Despite offering premium cars, the Genesis brand shows relatively low reliability scores according to the Consumer Reports 2025 rating. The company is placed only 14th out of 22 car manufacturers. For comparison, in 2024, Genesis ranked even lower at 18th place. This means Genesis is closer in points to Rivian, which took the last spot, than to Subaru, which topped the reliability ranking in 2025, outperforming Lexus, Toyota, Honda, and Acura. When it comes to specific Genesis models, the situation varies. The GV80 and GV60 both exhibit a moderate level of reliability, positioning around the middle of the rating scale. On the other hand, the GV70 and G70 have received more critical reviews regarding their reliability levels. Notably, the G70, the youngest model in the lineup, received the lowest score among all the brand’s vehicles.
