Moraes Orders Bolsonaro to Serve Sentence at Federal Police Headquarters

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF, has ordered ex-president Jair Bolsonaro to start serving his sentence at the Federal Police Superintendence on Tuesday (25). Bolsonaro’s defense chose not to submit a second appeal against the conviction, known as clarifications. The deadline to file the document expired on Monday (24). As a result, the minister requested that the final judgment of the case be declared (when there are no more available appeals) and the penal execution phase begin. Bolsonaro was sentenced by the STF to 27 years and three months in prison, with an initial closed regime. The defense is expected to argue for his transfer to house arrest, citing his advanced age and poor health conditions.
