Gref calls for an end to the ‘trade slavery’ of marketplace discounts

Sberbank’s CEO Herman Gref stated that it is necessary to level the competition conditions among banks on marketplaces. He explained that the financial organization is not against discounts but does not support ‘discounts in one gate,’ where if you are not a client of a particular bank, you cannot receive a discount. Gref pointed out, ‘We have long talked about various types of slavery, wage slavery, and so on. This is trade slavery. If you want to buy, if you want to get a discount, then you must open a card in a specific bank, and no one else is allowed in. These are clearly unequal competition conditions, non-market conditions. This should be abolished.’ The Sberbank CEO also highlighted the very high commissions for sellers on marketplaces.
