‘Drunk’ Social Worker Allegedly Assaulted Passengers on Easyjet Flight to Egypt

A social worker is facing charges for allegedly assaulting three individuals on an Easyjet plane bound for Egypt. Nadine Nugent, a 35-year-old woman from Belfast, is accused of attacking two women and a man while the plane was grounded at Hurghada airport on May 21 this year. The incident reportedly occurred while the EasyJet flight EZY3077 was parked at Hurghada airport after departing from Belfast International Airport. Nugent is charged with three counts of common assault, making a threat to kill, disobeying the pilot’s commands, behaving in a threatening manner, and being intoxicated on the aircraft. The Antrim Magistrates Court was informed that the alleged offenses mostly occurred in Hurghada airport while the plane was stationary, raising jurisdictional concerns.
