SEBI Prohibits Mutual Funds from Paying Transaction Charges to Distributors

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has directed mutual funds that if distributors bring subscriptions of less than 10,000 rupees, they will not have to pay transaction charges in those cases. So far, mutual funds had permission under regulatory frameworks, but it has now been abruptly terminated. This decision comes into immediate effect. SEBI’s move aims to protect the interests of investors and ensure transparency within the mutual fund distribution system.
