Indonesia Prioritizes Education Over Defense, President Prabowo Affirms

President Prabowo Subianto stated that every successful country has made significant investments in the education sector. According to him, Indonesia has been on the right path by making substantial investments in education. This was expressed by the President during the peak of the National Teacher’s Day celebration in Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex (GBK), Jakarta on Friday (28/11/2025). “The education sector has the largest budget in our national budget, and according to the law, education must receive a minimum of 20 percent of the budget. I believe our national budget has already allocated more than 20 percent in total,” he said. President emphasized that the significant budget must be allocated efficiently, from teachers to students and school facilities, including books, to enhance the quality of education in Indonesia. “We must believe wholeheartedly,” he added.
