Gaza: Egypt is training hundreds of Palestinian police officers with the aim of including them in a future security force in Gaza, a Palestinian official revealed. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty announced the training plan for 5,000 officers during discussions with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa in August. The first group of over 500 officers received training in Cairo in March, and since September, more courses have resumed to train additional personnel. The officers will be from Gaza and paid by the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, West Bank.
