Jakarta, Nov 30 – The Consulate General of India in Medan expressed deep condolences and solidarity with the people of Indonesia in the wake of the devastating floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The mission conveyed heartfelt sympathies for the tragic losses and pledged support to those affected. The Embassy of India in Jakarta also expressed profound sympathy for the loss of life and property caused by the natural disasters in various provinces of Indonesia, standing in solidarity with the Indonesian people during this challenging time. The recent flash floods and landslides in Sumatra claimed the lives of hundreds, leaving many more missing and homes destroyed. The National Disaster Management Agency of Indonesia reported a total of 303 deaths and 279 missing persons across the affected regions. Chief Suharyanto underscored the urgency of intensifying search and rescue operations, restoring communication, and providing essential aid to those impacted. Coordination efforts were prioritized to ensure swift and effective response in the aftermath of the calamity.
