Punjab is experiencing a significant decrease in temperature, leading to the issuance of a Yellow Alert by the weather department for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The increasing cold in dry weather is negatively impacting health, causing physical discomfort for people. An update on Punjab’s weather has been issued from today until December 4. Currently, no alerts have been issued for rain.
In Punjab, temperatures have dropped below 3 degrees, indicating a worsening effect of the increasing cold. According to the released figures, several districts including Jalandhar will have a Yellow Alert for November 30, December 1, and December 2. It is expected to see an increase in the speed of cold winds.
Experts attribute the temperature drop in Punjab to snowfall in the upper mountainous regions. According to weather updates, Ferozepur recorded a minimum temperature of 2.9 degrees, reflecting a decrease of 1.6 degrees from normal. Meanwhile, Amritsar recorded a minimum of 6.4 degrees and a maximum of 22.5, Ludhiana recorded a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 24.4, Patiala recorded a minimum of 9.5 and a maximum of 25.3, with the highest temperature in Bathinda at 27.1 degrees and a minimum of 6.4, Jalandhar recording a maximum of 22 and a minimum of 6 degrees.
