In the morning of this Sunday (30), streets in the central region will be closed for the parade of the champions of America. The expectation is to gather around 500,000 people. ‘Beverages in glass bottles will not be allowed in the parade area.’ The corridor formed by 1st of March Street and Presidente Antônio Carlos Avenue, in downtown Rio, was named in July this year in honor of Preta Gil, who had passed away days before and was the lead of one of Rio’s mega carnival blocks – that paraded on these very streets. After the 1-0 victory over Palmeiras in Lima, Peru, Flamengo became the first Brazilian club to win four Libertadores trophies (1981, 2019, 2022, and 2025). The expectation is for around 500,000 people to partake in celebrations at Circuito Preta Gil.
