Rains fueled by cyclones hit parts of Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia this week, as a rare tropical storm formed in the Strait of Malacca – separating the Indonesian island of Sumatra from the other two nations. Sri Lanka was struck by a separate storm, with heavy rains now approaching the southern coast of India.
