Vijayanagaram’s Bhogapuram international airport is slated for completion by the end of the next decade. Officials have prepared for the upcoming test flight, which is set to take place either in late December or in the first week of January. With 92% of the work completed, they aim to finish the remaining tasks by June this year, with flights expected to commence by August. The airport, named after Alluri Seetharamaraju, is poised to boost the development of Northern Andhra Pradesh.
Highlighting the Bhogapuram International Airport’s 3.8-kilometer runway, authorities are racing to tie up loose ends. Its completion will position it to compete with major airports like Mumbai and Delhi’s Noida Airport. The airport’s unique fish-shaped design aims to reflect Northern Andhra’s culture and traditions. The connectivity road between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram will help relieve traffic congestion in the region. Additionally, there are plans to construct a metro rail line linking Visakhapatnam to Bhogapuram.
