ICICI Bank recently announced a significant increase in the average minimum balance required for new savings accounts opened after August 1st. The amount has been raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000, marking a five-fold increase. This change comes at a time when many public sector banks have been eliminating the minimum balance requirement on savings accounts to attract more customers.
