Honda City e:HEV dives into darkness: The Black Outshine version shakes the market

The new version of the Honda City e:HEV, The Black Outshine, has received various visual modifications. These include black Honda logos at the front and rear, with the rear also featuring a dark ‘City’ emblem. Similarly, the 16-inch alloy wheels, door handles, and side mirror covers are painted black, and the radiator grille is designed in RS style with a black upper trim. Buyers of the new The Black Outshine version can choose between two body colors: Crystal Black Pearl or Platinum White Pearl. Under the hood, there have been no changes. The Honda Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system still features a 109 hp electric motor that powers the front wheels. The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery, which is charged by another electric motor (acting as a generator and starter) linked to a 1.5-liter four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine producing 98 hp (97 hp or 72 kW) and 127 Nm of torque. The gasoline engine can also be connected through a single-speed transmission (E-CVT) to provide direct drive at higher speeds when most efficient.
