Indonesia Landslides and Floods Claim 442 Lives and Leave Hundreds Missing

Recent landslides and floods in Indonesia have wreaked havoc. According to new reports, a total of 442 people have lost their lives, with hundreds still missing in various parts of the country. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the highest death toll came from North Sumatra, where 217 people have perished and 209 are still missing. South Tapanuli Regency saw rescue teams discovering more bodies during search operations, while Aceh Province reported 96 deaths and 75 missing persons, and West Sumatra reported 129 deaths and 118 missing persons.
