Driver who ran over and dragged woman on Marginal Tietê will be charged with attempted femicide

The driver who ran over and dragged a woman for over a kilometer on the Marginal Tietê in São Paulo will face charges of attempted femicide. He was found in a hotel in Vila Prudente, in the East Zone of the city, where he was shot while resisting arrest. Taynara Souza Santos is hospitalized in serious condition. Douglas Alves da Silva, 26, was arrested after running over and dragging Taynara Souza Santos for nearly a kilometer on the Marginal Tietê in the North Zone of São Paulo on Saturday morning. Douglas was hiding in a hotel in Vila Prudente, in the East Zone of the capital, and resisted arrest by trying to take a police officer’s weapon. The criminal was shot in the arm.
