Punjab Police constable Gursimran Singh Balnse has achieved a dream that many hold dear but few can accomplish. At just 22 years old, Balnse is currently stationed in Mohali. He has successfully cleared the Selection Services Board (SSB) interview and has been selected for the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force. He will soon be joining the Air Force Academy for training to become a flying officer. Originally from Ropar district, Gursimran Singh Balnse joined the Punjab Police in August 2022. Behind his khaki uniform lies a strong desire to soar high in the sky, a dream he has nurtured for years. His journey to becoming a flying officer has been marked by years of dedicated preparation and commitment. This was his fourth attempt to join the SSB. Balnse has completed his Bachelor of Arts through distance and online education from Punjab University. A former student of Meritorious School, Mohali, Balnse excelled in his 10th and 12th grades. He also passed the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) with a score of 143, qualifying him for SSB. His path to fulfilling his dream was not easy. Despite facing setbacks during his earlier attempts at NDA and technical branches, Balnse never gave up. He stated that failures never discouraged him; instead, they motivated him to learn more and strengthen his resolve to join the Indian Air Force.
