Apple Expanding Its Operations in Various States of India with its Suppliers, Network Spread Across 8 States

Apple Inc is continuously expanding its manufacturing operations in India. The company initially started with 2 iPhone factories in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. However, now its manufacturing footprint has expanded to 8 states and over 40 suppliers. These suppliers include several small, medium, and micro-enterprises (MSMEs). Apple’s suppliers are categorized into 3 tiers. The first tier includes companies such as Foxconn and Tata Electronics, which operate 5 iPhone factories supplying components. The second tier consists of companies producing components for Apple’s global supply chain battle outside India. The third tier companies are involved in manufacturing equipment for the new iPhone production line in India, including gear devices.
