IPL 2026 Auction Top Players: Teams like Kolkata and Chennai are gearing up to participate with large sums in the upcoming IPL 2026 mini auction. For this draft, a total of 355 players have registered their names to fill the 77 available slots among the 10 teams. Among them, 62 are Indian players, with 118 Indians having already secured places in IPL teams. Additionally, 196 foreign players, including 293 international cricketers, have also put forth their names for consideration in this auction.
The Demand for Players:
In this mini auction, there is a high demand for certain players who have the potential to command significant sums. Consequently, teams’ management are showing interest in spending large amounts for players like Cameroon Green, who could attract a lucrative deal in this event. Meanwhile, names like Maxwell, Russell, and others are being closely monitored for potential bids. Some teams are hesitating to register certain players due to their exclusion from the list of potential candidates. This raises questions about which players are currently in high demand and who could potentially fetch large sums in the auction.
Players Likely to Attract Big Bids:
1. Cameroon Green
The Australian batting all-rounder, who has played for teams like Mumbai and Bangalore, is listed with a base price of ₹2 crores for the auction. Known for his exceptional performances for the Australian team, teams like Kolkata and Chennai might engage in fierce competition to secure his services. The Bangalore team also has expressed interest in him.
2. Venkatesh Iyer
Last year’s mega auction saw all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer being picked by Kolkata for ₹23.75 crores, but he struggled in the 2025 season. Although he has been released since then, his potential could see him grabbed at a high price in the mini auction by Kolkata, who might strongly pursue his return. However, many teams could try to undermine Venkatesh Iyer’s value against the Rajasthan Royals.
3. Mathew Partivan
Partivan, who caught everyone’s attention with his stellar performances, was bought by Chennai for ₹13 crores in the previous mega auction. Ultimately, he had to be let go due to the inability to bear the pressure of the rival bid for him. Chennai could show interest in re-signing him for a handsome sum. Meanwhile, teams from Bangalore could make a move for him.
4. Liam Livingstone
Known for his aggressive batting, Livingstone played a key role in Bangalore securing him for ₹10.75 crores in the last mega auction. After being a part of the winning team, he ended up not offering the expected strong performances, resulting in him being unsold before the mini auction. However, the potential of providing big performances has clubs watching him closely for a good deal.
5. Ravi Bishnoi
In a bid to bolster their spinning unit, Lakhnau picked Bishnoi for ₹11 crores in the 2025 mega auction. Despite failing to deliver big impacts, they have released him. Lakhnau might still try to reintegrate him into the team. Other teams also may attempt to secure his contract.
