Initially developed for the Gazelle Next diesel models, the reinforced 5-speed gearbox (model KP 330) can withstand torque up to 330 Nm, replacing the previous KP 250 model (limited to 250 Nm). The new transmission features a three-piece housing, including an additional support insert for secondary and intermediate shafts. Instead of the traditional spline connection with the driveshaft via a sliding fork, a flange connection is now used. The gearbox underwent modifications, with improved synchronizers for smoother shifts into first and second gears, and a more durable fifth gear pinion, expected to increase the overall gearbox lifespan.
Since March 2025, all Gazelle Next models with all-metal bodies (including vans, combis, and minibuses) are equipped with the upgraded gearbox. Starting in September, this transmission is being installed on Gazelle Business and Sobol Business with a 4×2 wheel configuration, from November on board versions of Gazelle Next, and from December on full-drive versions of Gazelle Business and Sobol Business.
