Israel announced on Wednesday that they would start permitting select Palestinians to leave the Gaza Strip and travel to Egypt via the Rafah border crossing in the upcoming days. However, the Egyptian government denied any coordination with Israel regarding the reopening of the Rafah crossing. Despite this denial, the state information service of Egypt stated that the border should be open in both directions per the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. This openness would likely allow for the return of tens of thousands of Palestinians who had sought refuge in Egypt during the conflict.
