Jakarta – Singapore-based education technology company AppliedHE released the first edition of its ‘AppliedHE Public & Private University Rankings: ALL ASIA’ on Thursday (12/4/2025). This ranking is considered the first in Asia to list public and private universities separately. The ALL ASIA University Ranking 2026 includes 493 universities in Asia from 41 countries. South Korea is represented by 28 universities, India by 29, the Philippines by 60, Malaysia by 44, and Indonesia leads with 73 universities listed.

According to its official website, Indonesian universities only appear at rank 43 with Gadjah Mada University and rank 46 with the University of Indonesia. No other Indonesian campuses made it to the top 50. However, in the top 100, there are Airlangga University (ranking 63), Bandung Institute of Technology (ranking 66), Sebelas Maret University (ranking 67), IPB University (ranking 92), and Ten November Institute of Technology (ranking 98).
Ranking Methodology: Here are some indicators used to compile the rankings: Teaching (learning and teaching) – 40%; Employability – 20%; Research – 10%; Community Engagement – 10%; Internationalization – 10%; Institutional Reputation – 10%.
