In the 1990s, when Prince William was still a teenager, Princess Diana surprised her son by inviting supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, and Christy Turlington to a birthday party in his honor. Later in 2002, they crossed paths at a charity polo match where Claudia presented prizes, and William received a kiss on the cheek.
The teenage crush faded, and the stars pursued their personal lives separately, both happily married for many years. However, recently, the prince and the supermodel met again at a state dinner honoring the visit to the UK of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Schiffer was invited not only as a German by birth but also as a lady by marriage — her husband, British director Matthew Vaughn, was knighted in 2024. They married in 2002 and have a son and two daughters.
