Summer 2025 Box Office Breaks 8.5 Billion Yuan – Hualong Net

According to data from online platforms, as of 4:32 pm on August 10th, 2025 summer box office (June-August) has surpassed 8.5 billion yuan, including advance sales. Several exciting films have been released one after another. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. A series of works in film, drama, music, dance, and fine arts that commemorate the war and carry on the spirit of resistance have been gradually introduced. Among them, the war-themed film ‘The Nanjing Studio’ has grossed over 2.1 billion yuan. ‘Dongji Island’ premiered on the 8th, surpassing 180 million yuan in box office revenue. Additionally, ‘Promise with Mountains and Rivers’ and ‘731’ will hit the big screens on August 15th and September 18th respectively.
