The composition of the current Indonesia U22 national team is extraordinary. Many players have experience playing in leagues, with some even having careers abroad. Borneo FC player, Fajar Fathurahman, expressed full support for the U-22 national team players who are currently competing in the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Fajar, who successfully helped the U-22 national team win gold in the previous SEA Games in Cambodia, hopes that the team can repeat this achievement this year. Fajar believes that Ivar Jenner CS has undergone thorough preparation and is confident that the U-22 national team can defend the gold medal.
“My best wishes for them. The preparation I have seen is very good in facing strong teams. In essence, they play according to the coach’s instructions, and I believe they can achieve gold,” Fajar said at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday (12/7/2025).
When asked about the key to success in winning the gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games, Fajar mentioned that it lies in the teamwork among the players. “The key is unity, both on and off the field, and helping each other,” he said. Fajar is also optimistic about Indonesia’s squad’s chances this year. According to him, the composition of players who have experience in the Indonesian league and abroad is a valuable asset. “The composition of players now is extraordinary. Many have played in the league, and some have careers abroad. Plus, with Ivar’s experience in the senior team, they surely have high confidence to face teams like Thailand and Vietnam,” he concluded.
Prior to this, the coach of the Indonesia U-22 national team, Indra Sjafri, revealed the condition of his players ahead of the opening game of the SEA Games against the Philippines on December 8th. Indra Sjafri stated that the preparations are going well, with a complete squad of 23 players ready for the tournament. “As of today, our squad is complete with 23 players as per regulations. We are in a training camp and will move to Chiang Mai on the 6th,” said Indra Sjafri during a press conference on Thursday (12/4/2025). “The players are ready for the first match on the 8th and the second match on the 12th,” he added.
