The Brazilian Federal Police launched Operation Tredo on Monday morning with the aim of dismantling a group of public security agents suspected of collaborating with one of Rio’s largest criminal factions, the Red Command, by sharing confidential information on police operations. ‘Bacellar admits he spoke with TH Jóias on the eve of the operation: ‘If I were in your place, I would only be concerned about your daughter,’ said the president of Alerj to the deputy. The operation received support from the Special Operations Battalion (Bope) and the Military Police’s Internal Affairs department. Federal agents from the Sensitive Investigations Group (Gise) and the Narcotics Repression Department (DRE) executed 11 temporary arrest warrants and six search and seizure warrants issued by the 3rd Specialized Organized Crime Court.
