Video: Surveillance cameras capture earthquake in Japan

Surveillance camera footage showed the tremors in northeastern cities of Japan that were hit by a 7.6 magnitude earthquake on Monday (8), leading to tsunami warnings and residents being evacuated. A tsunami of up to three meters high could hit Japan’s northeast coast due to the earthquake, reported the JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency). Tsunami warnings were issued for the prefectures of Hokkaido, Aomori, and Iwate. The JMA also reported a 40 cm wave was recorded at the Mutsu Ogawara ports in Aomori and in the city of Urakawa in Hokkaido.
