Denny Caknan and Denny Sumargo Prepare Rp 1 Billion to Support Forest Purchase Idea

Jakarta – The idea of the environmental activist group Pandawara Group raising funds to buy forests in Indonesia to prevent land conversion has caught the attention of the online community, with celebrities also getting involved. The initially playful idea has received tremendous support, especially after the public witnessed the severity of deforestation and recent disasters, including in Sumatra. One of the most striking responses came from singer Denny Caknan, who without hesitation declared his readiness to donate Rp 1 billion to realize the idea. ‘It may seem impossible. It may seem absurd. But upon reflection, this dream makes sense,’ wrote Denny. ‘Even though I can’t figure out how to buy it, @pandawaragroup symbolizes our concern for the environment. I’m just a local artist who wants to help Pandawara’s dream and Indonesia.’ Not only Denny Caknan, but other celebrities also immediately joined the comment section. Denny Sumargo, in his distinctive style, quickly pledged ‘my first billion.’ Vidi Aldiano also didn’t want to be left behind, stating simply yet meaningfully, ‘I’m in.’ Atta Halilintar joined in with a similar comment, ‘Count me in.’ Content creator Ladislao Camara Carranza also showed enthusiastic support, as did Rayi Putra from RAN who wrote ‘Agree,’ indicating that this idea is truly opening the eyes of many. Pandawara started this conversation with a post about the dream: what if the Indonesian people pooled funds to buy forests to prevent them from being converted? They also shared the current condition of Indonesia’s forests and some regulations regarding the limits of oil palm plantations. ‘Because land conversion and deforestation are already way too excessive, guys,’ wrote Pandawara. They even invited the public to rethink the existing regulations. ‘So, guys? Is the current land conversion in line with the above rules?’ Now, the plan is moving into a more serious phase. Pandawara Group will prepare a more detailed plan. ‘We will involve many parties to realize this idea, such as our seniors in the environmental activist world and individuals knowledgeable about forest conservation and preservation,’ shared Pandawara Group.
