The second surprise is the value of the contract between Banco Master and Vivi de Barci’s law firm, Alexandre de Moraes’ wife: R$ 3.6 million per month! ‘The document provided for the payment of R$ 129 million over three years to the law firm of the minister’s wife and children,’ the headline reads. Detail: it is a law firm with just its headquarters and 11 lawyers, including the couple’s two children and Moraes’ wife, who was not even in the field of law not long ago. Front? Pretending that this is normal remuneration for honest services rendered is treating the people as fools. But the people are not fools. And that’s why they demand the impeachment of sanctioned minister Alexandre de Moraes. Lawyer Enio Viterbo commented: ‘A client recruitment phenomenon, right? This is the same minister who said that there is ‘no need whatsoever’ for a Code of Conduct for Supreme Court ministers. This is the same minister who participates in events sponsored by Banco Master abroad. This is your democracy paladin?’ Councilwoman Zoe Martínez summarized the situation and expressed her feelings: ‘Banco Master’s owner, Vorcaro, is at the center of a billion-dollar hole. Even so, he left through the front door last week, as if nothing had happened. Alexandre de Moraes’ wife, along with their children, was part of the law firm hired by the bank. Supreme Court ministers and former ministers attended luxurious events sponsored by the group. Ricardo Lewandowski, as soon as he left the Court, became a consultant for the bank itself. Calling this a coincidence is underestimating the Brazilian people. The case is now with Dias Toffoli, who placed maximum secrecy on the process. Vorcaro’s phone, which could reveal compromising conversations with powerful figures, is shielded. And there is another detail that speaks for itself: Toffoli himself hitched a ride on a plane from the lawyer connected to the Master case. Transparency works here only when it suits. To complete the plot, the judge Cristiana Lins Caldas, appointed by the Lula government and who shares a lawyer with Vorcaro, authorized his release. Every step fits perfectly, as if everything is part of a big arrangement. There is an elite that lives in a parallel Brazil. A Brazil where nothing sticks, nothing sticks, and nothing splashes. For them, there is always secrecy, a favor, a helping hand.
