Young Wife Falls Out of Window on Wedding Night in Ireland

Irish resident Jackie Sexton settled a conflict with the hotel from which she fell out of a window on her wedding night. This incident was reported by the Irish Examiner. On February 29, 2020, Jackie and her newlywed husband, Christopher, returned to the hotel after their wedding. After drinking heavily and feeling exhausted, Christopher went to take a shower. Meanwhile, the young wife undressed, sat in her lingerie on the windowsill, put her feet up on the table, and lit a cigarette. When Christopher came out of the bathroom, Jackie was nowhere to be found in the room. He immediately noticed an open window and soon heard moaning from outside. Peering out the window, he saw his wife below. She had fallen from the second floor, a height of 6-8 meters, onto the snowy asphalt. In the hospital, Jackie was diagnosed with rib fractures, collapsed lung, spinal, leg, and hip injuries, as well as kidney infarction. She had to undergo multiple surgeries and a lengthy rehabilitation. Initially, she could only move around in a wheelchair, then with the help of crutches. Now she manages without them, but she can no longer be as active as before. Following the incident, Jackie sued the hotel. She accused them of inadequate guest safety measures. In response, the hotel representatives claimed that all their windows met safety requirements. The legal battle lasted for five years until lawyers from both sides reached a settlement. It was previously reported that a 26-year-old woman in Bosnia and Herzegovina fell into a coma on her wedding night and passed away in the hospital a few days after the wedding.
