Santos, SP, starts vaccination against bronchiolitis and pneumonia

The city of Santos, along with Cubatão, São Vicente, Bertioga, and Praia Grande in the coastal region of São Paulo, is initiating the administration of vaccines against bronchiolitis and pneumonia. These vaccines are crucial in protecting newborns in their first 6 months of life by transferring antibodies from the mother to the baby during pregnancy. Pregnant women from the 28th week of gestation are the target audience for the bronchiolitis vaccine. The initiative aims to ensure the health and well-being of both mothers and infants, providing vital protection against these respiratory illnesses.
