The cyclone began forming in Western Rio Grande do Sul early in the day and will deepen over the state in the next few hours with rainfall that will be locally heavy and strong wind gusts that are expected to intensify in certain areas. According to the meteorologists, ‘the strongest winds are likely to occur in the southern and southeastern regions of the state, particularly along the coast.’ The timing for the peak wind activity is forecasted to be later in the afternoon and evening, gradually weakening overnight. Maximum wind speeds could reach up to 90 km/h in some areas, posing risks to infrastructure and causing power outages.
