India’s smartphone market saw the shipment of approximately 70 million devices in the first half of 2025, showing a modest 0.9% year-over-year growth, as reported by the International Data Corporation (IDC). The IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker revealed that Samsung managed to edge ahead of Apple in the super-premium segment during this period. Despite this, the iPhone 16 retained its position as the most shipped smartphone in India. This data indicates a strong presence for both Samsung and Apple in the Indian smartphone market, especially in the high-end segment.
