Ancient teeth unearthed in Ethiopia have been linked to a previously unidentified species of Australopithecus, a crucial branch in the evolution of human ancestors. The 13 fossil teeth were discovered in the Ledi-Geraru Research Area during expeditions carried out between 2015 and 2018. These findings at the LD 750 and LD 760 excavation sites have led to the identification of a distinct species of Australopithecus.
