John Textor and Eagle commit to ending legal disputes over Botafogo’s SAF in meeting in the US

John Textor and the Eagle Football Holdings shareholders have committed to cease hostilities and legal disputes, thus opening up the possibility of agreements involving Botafogo’s SAF, as reported by ‘GE’ on Saturday (8/16). The meeting held on Friday in New York (USA) was attended by Textor, Eagle shareholders, Ares Management fund, and Thairo Arruda, the CEO of Botafogo. As the discussions progressed positively, expectations are rising for negotiations to be conducted in a ‘friendlier’ manner. Eagle’s controllers showed a greater willingness to sell Botafogo’s SAF to John Textor, who intends to take the club to a new company incorporated in the Cayman Islands. Previously, Ares had demanded Textor’s withdrawal from Botafogo to proceed with the negotiations. Now, there has been progress in the discussions and the shareholders have indicated a price range for the American entrepreneur to ‘buy back’ the Alvinegro.
