Government Forces Air Canada into Arbitration to End Strike

The strike has the potential to disrupt travel plans for more than 100,000 passengers. In response, the Canadian government has intervened, mandating Air Canada and its striking flight attendants to return to work and enter into arbitration. This decision comes after the strike caused over 100,000 travelers to be left stranded. Federal Jobs Minister Carla Qualtrough stated that a full restoration of services may take several days to be completed due to the process of arbitration. The involvement of the government in this labor dispute signals a significant effort to bring an end to the strike and prevent further disruptions to air travel.
