First introduced as BRIC by Jim O’Neill of Goldman Sachs in 2001 to highlight the emergence of new markets and influence global investment strategies, the concept evolved into BRICS with the inclusion of South Africa in 2010. The combined potential of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa has garnered substantial attention, offering a counter-narrative to Western dominance.
