Israel unleashed a series of heavy attacks on Gaza City and its surroundings, as reported by residents on Thursday. This escalation follows the approval of an expanded offensive by the defense ministry to target the remaining Hamas strongholds within the strip. The new plan allows for the mobilization of approximately 60,000 reservists, heightening concerns about the exacerbation of the already dire humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory. “We are not waiting. We have initiated preliminary actions, and IDF troops are already positioned on the outskirts of Gaza City,” stated the Israeli military in a release.
