In recent times, Israel’s military situation seems extremely bizarre, with a complex relationship between politics and the military especially as the ‘Gideon Tank No. 2’ operation was approved to occupy Gaza City. The Israeli military even launched a new round of operations before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, approved the plan. They applied extensive military pressure on places like Sderot, Zeitoun, and Jabalia. Given the repetition of previous operation’s combat principles, current and former military officials are increasingly concerned about its potential failure.
