Colombian Filmmaker Simon Mesa Wins Top Awards at Santiago International Film Festival

Colombian filmmaker Simón Mesa added more accolades to his collection after winning the best feature award at the 21st Santiago International Film Festival (Sanfic) in Chile. The festival closed on Aug. 23, with Mesa also taking home the best director award ex aequo. His films ‘A Poet,’ ‘They Will Be Dust,’ and ‘The Monster’ garnered top honors, showcasing his talent in the industry. The event also recognized outstanding works like ‘South of Winter, Lies the Snow,’ ‘Zafari,’ ‘La Quinta,’ ‘Black Cocaine,’ ‘Africa Express,’ and ‘The Bustamante,’ highlighting the diversity and excellence in filmmaking.
