In the Mingyue Gorge, the Sichuan Road unfolds before the eyes. Ancient pathways like the pre-Qin plank road and the Jinniu post road wind and twist underfoot. “The way to Sichuan is harder than reaching the sky!” Li Bai’s words of amazement have echoed through the ages, but today the Sichuan Road is no longer difficult.

Over 70 years ago, the Chengdu-Chongqing railway had a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. Over 70 years later, the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed rail has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The transportation in the Chengdu-Chongqing region has gone from 13 hours, 8 hours, 4 hours, to just 1 hour.
