The President of Argentina, Javier Milei, was hastily removed from a car parade on Wednesday (27/8) after stones and bottles were thrown at the vehicle he was in. According to information from his staff, no one was injured. The event was part of an activity of Milei’s party, La Libertad Avanza, held in Lomas de Zamora, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. Milei was accompanied by deputy José Luis Espert, regarded as one of the main candidates in the upcoming legislative elections in October. Images shared on social media show the president waving to supporters from the back of a pickup truck when the commotion began. In other videos, Espert is seen leaving the scene on a motorcycle without a helmet after the start of the chaos. According to Clarín newspaper, the event was suspended due to security concerns. Argentine media reported that opposition militants harassed Milei and threw objects in his direction, leading to clashes between supporters and opponents during the parade.
