Iran clarifies return of IAEA inspectors not full resumption of cooperation

TEHRAN: Iran clarified on Wednesday that the return of UN nuclear inspectors did not indicate a complete resumption of cooperation, which was halted following attacks by Israel and the United States in June. The Iranian government made it clear that the inspectors’ return was not a signal of restored collaboration between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The suspension of cooperation was a result of heightened tensions stemming from the attacks, and Iran was firm in stating that full cooperation had not yet been reinstated. The country emphasized that the return of inspectors was merely a step towards normalizing the relationship, but not the actual resumption of full cooperation.
