Teenager who killed Miguel Uribe sentenced in Colombia

The 15-year-old responsible for shooting Colombian senator and presidential candidate Miguel Uribe in June was sentenced to seven years of juvenile detention on Wednesday. The politician succumbed to his injuries and passed away in mid-August. According to a statement from the Public Ministry, the teenager will serve the socio-educational measure in a specialized closed center. The process was conducted by a juvenile court, where the minor faced charges of attempted homicide and illegal possession of a firearm.
