A Typhoon 26 Years Ago Firmly Strengthened Xi Jinping’s Determination on Flood Control

During this year’s National Day holiday, a dragon boat ‘marathon’ took place on the Mulan River in Putian, Fujian. 161 dragon boats, with 5000 paddlers, paraded along the river. The shore also hosted a variety of folk activities, attracting many citizens to come and check in. The Mulan River, a ‘river of happiness’ benefiting residents, used to be a rebellious ‘river of water disasters.’ Originating from the Daiyun Mountains, the Mulan River flows eastwards into the sea, serving as the ‘mother river’ of Putian City.
