The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency confirmed that the rumors circulating on social media, supposedly connected to Israel’s Mossad, were false. The misinformation attempted to create chaos and sow discord, according to Iranian officials. In a statement, Iran clarified that Qaani was safe and unharmed, condemning the spread of false information intended to destabilize the region.
