Atlético-MG signs agreement with coach Jorge Sampaoli

Jorge Sampaoli is the new head coach of Atlético-MG. The Argentine coach has just reached a verbal agreement with the board and will travel from Rio de Janeiro, where he resides, to Belo Horizonte today to sign a contract and assume his new position. Sampaoli will be linked to Galo until December 2027, returning to the club after just over four years – he led Atlético-MG from March 2020 to February 2021. The negotiation was swift, starting with a virtual meeting yesterday morning, where both parties expressed their desire to work together. During the meeting, the sports alignment was defined, and shortly after, a verbal agreement regarding the financial aspect was also sealed.
