Australia: Iranian Ambassador Expelled for Involvement in Anti-Semitic Attacks

The Australian government, accusing Iran of being involved in anti-Semitic attacks in Melbourne and Sydney at the end of last year, announced on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the expulsion of the ambassador of this Middle Eastern country. It is the first time since World War II that a foreign diplomat is expelled from Australia. Prime Minister Albanese stated, ‘Australia will not tolerate any form of racism or religious discrimination. The expulsion of the Iranian ambassador sends a strong message that such behavior will not be accepted.’
