Starting this Saturday (1), banks and financial institutions across the country will renegotiate debts through the Negotiation and Financial Guidance Marathon. Among the benefits for consumers to settle debts are special payment conditions, such as installment plans, discounts on total debt amount, or reduced interest rates for refinancing, according to each participating institution’s policy. Over 160 institutions are part of this initiative, along with partners like the Central Bank, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon), and Consumer Protection Agencies (Procons). The list of participants can be checked on the ‘Meu Bolso em Dia’ website by the Brazilian Banking Federation (Febraban), and it only caters to individuals with overdue debts.
