Brazil’s exports to the USA drop by 38% with tariff increase

The trade deficit means that Brazil imported more American products than it exported to the United States, creating an unfavorable scenario for the Brazilian economy. In October, exports to the USA totaled $2.21 billion, showing a significant decline of 38% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, imports from the American economy reached $3.97 billion, marking a 9.6% increase from October 2024. As a result, Brazil had a trade deficit of $1.76 billion last month. The last month Brazil had a trade surplus with the USA was in December of the previous year, amounting to $468 million.
